Go Bananas! for QuickStart Tots & Tykes

Go Bananas! visits are an integral part of our strategy to introduce young kids to a lifelong sport and a lifetime of healthy eating and physical activity. We want the word "tennis" to be in the vocabulary of every three and four-year old in our Service Area. Pre-K kids are ready to learn. Everything is new and is a wonderous adventure. They learn through playing. The kid-sized, play to learn QuickStart Tennis format and the Go Bananas! message are the perfect combination to help create happy, healthy and active kid in the communities we serve.

Each child receives a Go Bananas! bracelet and poster and an assortment of our Go Bananas! nutrition cards.

Then the kids get to "play" some tennis. We use 19-inch racquets, red foam balls and puffer balls that stay on the racquet better.

The QuickStart format for kids this age emphasizes the development of motor skills -- agility, balance, coordination, footwook and reaction time. Learning to cooperate with other kids is essential. Learning cooperation and teamwork at an early age sets the stage for critical life skills development.
