Fall 2009 Albemarle Middle School After-School QuickStart Program Wraps Up
Albemarle County's inaugural Middle School After-School QuickStart Program wrapped up in mid October after ten 1-1/2 hour sessions. 160 kids participated!

Henley MS has no tennis courts, but lead PE teacher and QuickStart Tennis Coach Tessa Pehanick is terrific at improvising. Stations were set up and kids were split into teams of six or seven. The team captain led the group through the stations.
Some sessions were held across the road at the Western Albemarle High School tennis courts.

Team Walton Coach Andrew Wymer explains the double-elimination tournament format to kids at Walton Middle School. Coach Wymer is a PE teacher at Meriwether Lewis Elementary School and the Boys' Tennis Coach at Monticello High School.

Team Walton had a great time!
And celebrated with a potluck supper with their parents who watched tournament play.

Hopefully the bananas canceled out the fried chicken!
Team Burley Kids at Burley Middle School hopped on a bus and had a lot of fun playing QuickStart at the Albemarle High School tennis courts.
