QCV Hosts Another USTA QuickStart Workshop
On Saturday, October 9, 2010, QCV trained 20 people at a USTA QuickStart Workshop on the outdoor QuickStart courts at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, VA. This was the fourth workshop in the past 20 months, and brought the total number of people trained to teach or coach QuickStart in central Virginia to over 470. Rob Issem, Director of Tournaments for USTA/Virginia and a national USTA QuickStart trainer, led the session. QCV Board members Pat Severson, John Oliver, and Lynda Harrill also joined in the FUN.
Participants came from all over the QCV Service Area -- Albemarle, Fluvanna, Mecklenburg, Orange counties and City of Charlottesville. They were PE teachers, Head Start instructors, tennis pros, tennis coaches, interested parents and volunteers and accomplished junior players who want to teach younger kids. It was a FUN way to spend a beautiful Saturday morning in the fall in Charlottesville. Everyone had a great time! Many thanks to Rob Issem, Patrick Kearns, Farmington Country Club and USTA/Virginia!!!
