QuickStart Central Community Outreach

We're all about inclusion!

Tennis is a grassroots sport and tennis players are passionate about reaching out to all members of the community. At QuickStart Tennis of Central Virginia, we pride ourselves on being inclusive and reaching out to everyone we can, especially underserved, at-risk or vulnerable kids. We believe tennis can have a very positive impact on their lives.

We can reach the greatest number of kids in public schools, but we also seek out partnerships with private schools and homeschooling organizations and groups. We want a racquet in every kid's hand!

To reinforce the QuickStart Tennis played in schools, we partner with organizations such as the YMCA in Nelson County and Boys & Girls Club of Central Virginia to incorporate QuickStart into their programs. We are working with Ellis Acres Memorial Park in Buckingham County to help them restore a tennis court and add QuickStart courts. We provide training and equipment for community organizations and programs.

And we reach out to more than kids. We want to help beginners of any age learn the sport for a lifetime.

A racquet in every hand! A smile on every face!

Boys & Girls Club is adding QuickStart to its Reading & Racquets Program.

Continuing the tradition started over 40 years ago by Arthur Ashe, Charlie Pasarell and QCV Honorary Chairman of the Board, Sherry Snyder, when they founded National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL), we encourage after-school and year-round programs to start NJTL chapters. Belonging to an NJTL chapter opens up kids to Tennis Leadership Camp, the annual Arthur Ashe Essay Contest, grant opportunities and many other USTA benefits.

The USTA recently celebrated NJTL's 40th anniversary with a "Breaking the Barriers" event.

Arthur Ashe would be so pleased with NJTL's longevity and he would have loved QuickStart Tennis!
